This picture was taken by a European Space Agency satellite high over northern Canada. At the bottom of the picture you can see parts of Nunavut. The water is Fox Basin which is a sallow extension of the Atlantic ocean between Baffin Island and Nunavut. Nunavut was the former eastern portion of the North West Territories. This area is now the subject of intensive research due to the fears that the arctic ocean ice is melting and that if this happens the global climate with be adversely effected.
